Whatever the job we do, we all need some personal qualities other than work qualities that make us a professional at our works. Depending on the work and situations airport employees face in their daily routine, few personal qualities are must required to face the situations. Now, let's read about the qualities a candidate required in the Aviation industry.
Communication :
Aviation is the industry where you meet thousands of people every day. you have to talk to them, ask them questions, answer their questions in a way that they need to understand every single word you speak. Good and clear communication skill is a must need quality for the aviation industry. It's not about the language you speak but the way you speak plays a key part. Even though you need English to get a job in aviation, there is no such rule saying that you need to speak to customers only in English because sometimes even the customer you deal with may not understand English so it's all about customer satisfaction give them what they want. Depending on the customer you are dealing with, your way of communication needs to be changed. But, It should always be polite and simple. Never be too fast or too slow. No technical words should be used that make the customer confused and don't try to give boring essay answers always keep your answer short and sweet : )
Personality and Looks matters :
Imagine you entered into an airport and you saw two counters in front of you. In counter "A" the employee looks so unclean with informal clothes, messy hair with a dull face full of beard and mustache and in counter "B" he wore clean and formal clothes, a neat professional hairstyle, proper maintained beard and mustache most importantly a very good smile that welcomes you without even saying any word from his mouth. In this scenario, we always choose to go to the counter "B". It's not because the person is looking good, but we feel that he may give us the proper answers. How did he make us feel good about him? "The First Impression" He created a very good first impression that gives a positive vibe. A good smile, personality, and looks are always matters in an industry like aviation. Here a "Good Personality" doesn't mean having a six-pack, white skin, tall body etc "Good Personality" means cleanness, decent look, positive smile, honest response. Not every good looking employee will be the best employee, but every best employee will look good.

This is a very common situation airlines face with the passengers, sometimes it will be even more complicated. Don't worry you will get trained to handle all this. In the above video, we can see how frustrated the passengers are due to the delay of their flight and airlines employee trying to explain the situation to cool down them. This is not the mistake of either passengers or airlines. Delay in flight will happen a lot due to different reasons. Let's talk about it on another day. The thing which I want you guys to observe here is the way the employee dealing the customers, though all passengers are shouting, Frustrated and angry at him, he is trying to explain everything with polite language and attitude. To deal with this kind of situation one needs a very high patience. Some passengers might be drunken, some might be Frustrated, some might be sad, some might be aggressive but, an employee is never allowed to lose their patience they should always be ready to provide a polite customer service.
