Two Aircraft Manufacturers Who Leads Aviation.

1.BOEING

Boeing is the American Aerospace company which has a history of more than 100 years. It manufacturers Aircraft, Rockets, Satellites, Rotor crafts, Tele-communication equipment's also Missiles. Boeing is the largest aerospace company in the world. Name of all Boeing aircraft starts with the letter 'B' followed by number "7". This company has three main divisions.


  • BCA (Boeing Commercial Airplanes)

  • BDS (Boeing Defense, Space and Security)

  • Boeing Global Services.

                     In 2017, Boeing ranked 24th in the "Fortune 500" list. 64th rank in 2018, 68th rank in 2019. 19th rank in the world's most admired companies list in 2019.                         Among all the Boeing aircrafts B-747 has a special popularity due to its "Hump" design. B-747 is popularly known as "Queen of the skies". American president's "Air Force One" and Indian Prime Minister's "Air India One" are B-747 aircraft and many government officials use B-747 as their personal aircraft.

In 2018 Boeing delivered 806 aircraft which is a record. At present, almost 90% of aircraft serving the world are from Boeing and more than 5,700/- aircraft are currently in order. Boeing delivers Avg of 690 aircraft in a year. In this way, Boeing can deliver all the current orders in the next 8 years. On March 13th, 2018 Boeing set a record of delivering its 10,000th B-737 aircraft. It was delivered to southwest airlines. Every seven out of 10 aircraft deliveries go to the customers out of the America.

The costliest aircraft from Boeing to date is 747-8 freighter 378 million USD. The maximum speed recorded by a Boeing aircraft is 716 knots.

Upcoming aircraft from Boeing is 777-X. This is going to be the costliest commercial aircraft. B 777-X is expected to be launch in 2021.



2.AIRBUS

Headquarters: Leiden, Netherlands

Revenue : 6,370 crores EUR (2018)




Airbus is a European Aerospace Company. Airbus will make design and manufacture all aerospace products and all kinds of commercial and cargo aircraft throughout the globe. By the end of this year (2020) Airbus is going to celebrate its "Golden Jubilee". Even though Airbus started 50 years after the Boeing, Airbus gives a very tough competition for Boeing. All Airbus aircraft names start with the letter "A" followed by number "3". This company has three divisions 


  • Commercial Aircrafts

  • Defense & Space

  • Helicopters

                                Airbus ranked 100th on Fortune Global 500 list in 2016 and 123rd rank in 2019, Airbus maintaining to be in the Fortune Global 500 list from the last 22 consecutive years. 


                                Aircraft A-380 has a separate fan base among all the commercial aircraft's. It is a full-length double-deck 4 engine aircraft. It took its first flight on 27th April 2005. It is certified to carry 868 pax (Aviation term for Passengers) on a single flight and can travel with the speed of 587 knots. It is also the world's largest commercial plane till date and costliest Airbus aircraft (403.9 Million USD).

Till now Airbus made 12,712 deliveries and still 7,670 orders are in pending. In 2018, this company made 800 deliveries the highest in their history. Average deliveries made by Airbus in a year is 694. In the year 2011, Airbus set a record of receiving the highest number of orders for single aircraft, That is 380 new orders for A-320 in that 180 from Indigo and 200 from Air-Asia. Airbus market share increased to 45.3% in 2018 from 41.1% in 2014.

The recent invention of Airbus is Airbus Beluga XL first flight on 19th July, 2018. It is a twin-engine cargo flight. The company designed the looks of this aircraft similar to the beluga whale. Airbus Beluga XL is nicknamed as Whale of the sky. This aircraft has the largest cabin volume than any other aircraft (78,000 Cu Ft).

Upcoming inventions from Airbus are Airbus Blade & Airbus E-fan X  electric aircraft. Both are estimated by 2021.


Conclusion : 


The aviation industry has many more aircrafts manufacturers but Boeing and Airbus are popularly known among everyone. These two companies together have a 91% market share. Without these two companies Aviation industry has no life. Both companies have faced a lot of failed inventions and a lot of difficult situations their fighting spirit and business strategies kept them in this position today. In the future, many more manufacturers can come to the Aviation but Airbus and Boeing will always be on the top. Thanks to Airbus and Boeing for creating wonderful inventions.
